Environmental

Environmental-Landscape-Com

Our philosophy at Rye Beach Landscaping is to walk softly on the earth, and leave it better than we found it. We are a “green” landscaping company in Rye Beach, New Hampshire. We take our commitment as an environmental landscape company in New Hampshire seriously. Since 2005, we have been powering our fleet on vegetable oil. Bio diesel emits less than half the emissions of petroleum, is non-toxic, biodegradable, and is sustainable for the environment.

From April to October, we are “off the pump.” Our company is able to supply nearly all of our fuel needs with biodiesel that we synthesize at our Exeter location. Using our own fuel product means that we reduce dependence on oil and work towards a healthier planet. Although the process of making the fuel takes time, it more than pays for itself as the price at the pump continues to climb.

We also process all of our green waste into a composted topsoil that we use in all of our planting projects and lawn installations. New Hampshire seacoast soil typically is sandy and lacking in organic material. Loam that is purchased commercially often is void of essential micro nutrients that plants need to get a healthy start. Composting provides those essential nutrients and beneficial bacteria in a form that is readily available to the plant. Using “live soil” can quickly accelerate the growth and establishment of landscape trees, lawns and shrubs.

Our commitment to sustainability can be found in the office, too! Several years ago we began moving our clients in a direction of electronic mail from conventional postage mail. While not all of our clients receive billing and notifications this way, many have, and has greatly reduced our paper consumption. All of our stationary is printed on recycled paper with biodegradable ink.
